Mission: The Invention for Sustainable Development Program fosters and unleashes human creativity and invention to meet basic human needs and build sustainable livelihoods for the world’s poor people.

To accomplish its international goals, The Foundation is supporting:

  1. RAMPs - Recognition and Mentoring Programs

In India, Indonesia and Peru, the Foundation has teamed with leading institutions to create RAMPs that provide support systems for student and grassroots inventors who are working to advance the broad objectives of sustainable development. And the foundation partnered with Ashoka, the organization that pioneered the field of social entrepreneurship, on the Ashoka-Lemelson Fellowship Program, a global effort to build a critical mass of 100 inventor-entrepreneurs and catalyze their growth and impact.

  2. Technology Dissemination Projects

Projects in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, or those more global in scope, 1) enable inventors and entrepreneurs to test the feasibility of models for distributing innovations; 2) support scaling and replication activities; 3) fund successful entrepreneurs and organizations to import and adapt proven innovations; and 4) support the development and testing of sustainable business models.
