Kevin Washington joined The Lemelson Foundation in 2025 as its Chief Financial and Administrative Officer. With more than 20 years of leadership experience in finance and accounting across diverse areas including healthcare, energy, education, manufacturing, and aviation, Washington is well positioned to work with innovators and entrepreneurs.
Throughout his career, he has gained expertise in grants management, financial reporting, and system implementation, consistently delivering strategic insights that fuel organizational growth. As a leader, he has successfully managed budgets as large as $400 million, directed cross-functional teams, and spearheaded transformative projects to enhance operational efficiency and financial transparency.
Known for his ability to drive operational efficiency and ensure fiscal integrity, he excels in implementing innovative technology solutions and fostering continuous improvement. His accomplishments include achieving over $25 million in cost savings through strategic initiatives and optimization efforts.
In addition to industry experience, Washington spent nearly a decade working with Oregon-based organizations Native Arts + Cultures Foundation, Oregon Education Association, and Impact NW. He holds an MBA from Fox School of Business at Temple University.
