ClearPath is a nonprofit that collaborates with public and private sector stakeholders to advance American innovation while working to reduce global carbon emissions. Founded in 2014, ClearPath has developed cutting-edge policy solutions on clean energy and clean manufacturing innovation and supports the private-sector deployment of critical technologies.
Industrial emissions are rising, and are projected to surpass the power and transportation sectors by 2030. ClearPath received support from The Lemelson Foundation for the Clean Industrial Technology Campaign – an initiative with the Clean Air Task Force to foster bipartisan policy reform to accelerate the decarbonization of hard-to-abate industrial sectors.
“Decarbonizing industry is a heavy lift — these are called hard-to-abate sectors for a reason,” said Joel Clement, Senior Program Officer at The Lemelson Foundation. “In addition to fostering potential technology game-changers, it’s essential to address the many policy barriers to innovation in these sectors. ClearPath and the Clean Air Task Force are leading a campaign to do just that.”
In February 2023, Clear Path published a report — Paving the Way to Innovation — along with the Clean Air Task Force and the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions, outlining steps needed to reduce the global emissions created by the production of cement, concrete, and asphalt.
