As a longtime Oregonian, Eric Lemelson has been involved in many community based environmental projects, blending a variety of approaches to land use, energy, and climate change mitigation. He currently manages a number of projects incorporating diverse strategies under the rubric of resiliency. Eric’s volunteer work includes the Oregon Global Warming Commission, 1000 Friends of Oregon, and other related local, state, and regional efforts.
In addition to serving on the board of The Lemelson Foundation, Eric is also the Founder and President of the Karuna Foundation, a family foundation that focuses on climate adaptation strategies in the Eastern Himalaya region, most notably in Bhutan. He received his JD in Environmental and Natural Resources Law in 1992 from the Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College. He has been a member of the Oregon Bar since 1993.
